Maybe you should release the 2.8.2 version to the public? You might lose the popularity again if it stays consistent, as many people didn't become a beta tester.
It doesn't have any bugs eaither, so I don't really see the issue here.

It depends if V3 takes too long. Not going to really post an update if it's close to finishing and I don't like posting beta updates anymore.
